The Krusty the Clown Show dates back to 1957, and started out as a major talk show. Eventually, the show turned into a children's entertainment program, and became very popular. By the 1970s, Krusty would hit the kids with a stick if they didn't giggle. This led to the documentary film Circus of Shame. [1] The show is characterized by slapstick humor, comical skits using the characters of the show's members, sometimes intentionally invited stars, and often incomprehensible sponsors such as Perkodan.
At one point, Krusty was convicted of attempted theft, so Sideshow Bob took over the show, renaming it Sideshow Bob's Incredible Show and making it an educational show for children. However, Bob was tired of being the target of Krusty's pranks, and it was revealed that Sideshow Bob had framed Krusty, so the show was returned to Krusty. [2]
The show faced competition from the famous ventriloquist show The Gabbo Show, and its ratings quickly dropped, even falling below those of the Ocho channel, and it was soon postponed.
