A chat with Famalam creator Akemnji Ndifornyen
Since the new series "Famalama" is being distributed on BBC IPLAYER, we spoke to writer, producers, actors and composers Akemni Nyinfornenen. He told me the feelings after the third series was released and why it was the best.
You write, produce, act and compose the music for Famalam, is it difficult to juggle those different roles?
Really interesting. I love them all, and I've never thought it was hard. I've always wanted to make music, which is an interesting editing challenge. In order to get the permission to use music, you may think like a producer or if you can do something similar.
By sharing your time, you can have an interesting conversation. It's not easy to tell the budget over as a producer while wearing a clown costume!
How do you feel about the success of Famalam?
wonderful! I am very proud of the actors. Some of them are always calling or stopped in the city. I think I did more to excite the show. I want everyone to see Famalam, not just because the third episode is the best so far!
You won a Bafta as a breakthrough talent last year, how has that affected your career?
It was surprising that he won the Buffta Awards Brea k-through talent last year. The Buffta Award is an award that symbolizes the outstanding television and film industry for over 50 years. I have been acting since the age of 11, but I never thought I would won Buffta.
It was rewarded for my career. As I mentioned earlier, Buffta is a symbol of the superiority of the television and film industry, and after winning such awards, people begin to pay attention and lead to various topics.
Where do you get the ideas for sketches?
As a team, we like wonderful characters with great lines. I also like to look at the topic of the trend and arrange it in the Famalam style. Talk about everything that happened on that day and think about what you can create from there. The idea of the sketch in the second episode was to come up with the "Willie Wonka and Chocolate Factory".
I also like sketches for songs. When I listen to something, I sometimes think, "Let's do something after hot chocolate" and write sketches about it. But it's already over. I wanted to play a song related to Lil Nas X and something named after Old Kent Road. When I started searching, Radio 1 was the best!
What can we expect from the new series of Famalam?
This is the best song! Other songs are great, but we were lucky. The pilot version was taken in 2017 and has been growing since then. This program has the best music and the best skit.
This is the Famalam trilogy. There is no such a wonderful trilogy!
What was it like pitching Famalam for the first time?
Interestingly, they came to me. Chris Sasman (formerly BBC Studio's former executive producer) came to me and said he wanted to produce something. I used to work as a writer with Jebong Prince at Jebon Prince Show before. Jebon supported me every time and was pleased for me. There is no doubt that he helped me, but this time he said it was a turn to help someone.
Then, when I talked to Shane Allen (the BBC Comedy Division), everyone was very cooperative and gave us freedom of acting. And we succeeded!
How did you get started in comedy?
I have been acting since I was 11 and experienced various roles as an artist.
This is a huge business, creating various things. A lawn coat in the movie theater, a dead head coat on TV, and hard coats in theaters. The same game depends slightly depending on which coat you play.
By doing a lot of acting, I had the opportunity to graffiti. For example, some people, like Jack Thorne, a great writer, like one thing to be absorbed in one thing. He uses the data brilliantly, and this is what he is actually preparing. I wanted to make a clos e-up of John Carpenter, a director and voice actor. I wanted to organize something like that and have the opportunity to express myself in multiple ways, for example, writing, scriptwriting, and producing.
What advice would you give someone looking to work in TV?
At least there is no way to get into the mold. Not only on YouTube and DIY spirit, the industry is changing rapidly thanks to technology. Even if you take a picture with a smartphone, people do not notice the difference. You don't have to wait for someone to allow. Companies buy programs from YouTuber based on viewers. Stand on the stage and be stubborn.
There is an ups and downs, and there is also a of f-season. Keep everything you can do for time. Solve it with your own love, not work. I still woke up and said, "Wait, is this my job? I go to work. "If you can feel this, all retreats and measured elements will be valuable.
Famalama Series 3 is BBC Three and BBC IPLAYER, and BBC One starts at 10:45 pm on August 24 pm on weekdays.
