    In Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake, lightning is one of the four elements assigned to special moves, along with jump, fire, and ice. Thunderbolt and Shocker Marlow are displayed with the lightning element. Attacking enemies and bosses that are weak to lightning will double the damage, and conversely, attacking enemies and bosses that are weak to lightning will have no effect and will cause 0 damage.

    Additionally, some enemy attacks contain lightning (Bolt, Electroshock, Lightning Orb, Static-E!/Static Electric), which can be negated by Lazy Shell or Super Suit. In the remake, Mallow's Mind's Eye can be used to reveal enemy weaknesses, including lightning. Clown College's Triple Attack deals extra damage to enemies weak to lightning, fire, and ice.
